Despite her own PTSD from the job, she assists her colleagues to learn and deal with the constant stress and mental anguish, and do what they love – save lives. With more than 3 decades of experience in almost every segment of the telecommunications industry; With experience in the field as an engineer building and managing several of the world's largest private voice networks, I’ve acquired a unique end-to-end view of telecommunications, from various perspectives. This includes both fundamental TDM as well as the advanced VoIP environments popular today, and the migration from one to the other. I am a listed inventor on 14 different US Patents for advanced NG911 call handling capabilities, and I’m one of about 1500 certified NENA Emergency Number Professionals (ENP) where I utilize my knowledge and skillsets to support the industry as an active Subject Matter Expert in emergency services communications. I assist both Enterprise and Government groups and agencies develop their vision and strategy for building a solid roadmap and a successful transition to Next Generation Emergency Services. I am a regular speaker at many industry events and in the past, I have been recognized internationally for my numerous Podcasts and Blogs. In my previous role, as Chief Architect for Public Safety at Avaya, I represented the company in several Public Safety agencies and organizations. I have held a position on the FCC Disability Advisory Committee as well as the FCC Task Force for Optimized PSAP Architectures and served 4 terms on the APCO International Standards Development Committee. In it’s early years, I was a Technical Committee Co-Chair and regular contributor to the European Emergency Number Association activities. Currently, I am often called upon to provide technical input to legislators and regulators in addition to the industry in general, where I drive the industry forward towards NENA i3 compliant Next Generation Emergency Services.
